Bob Sokorai owned and operated Conveyability for over 30 years and had steadily grown the company to its present size. Bob took a hands-on approach to running Conveyability and was involved in the day-to-day operations of the Business.
Bob stated “I have had a ton of fun over the last 30 years running Conveyability. I feel like I have accomplished a lot, and I am proud of where the Company is at today. I consider myself lucky because of all of the great people that have surrounded me through the years.”
“As I started to think about retiring, I wanted to ensure that all of the employees and customers would have a smooth transition. After engaging with Calder Capital, I was quite surprised at the speed and volume of interest in my business. Within the first week on the market we had three showings and two solid offers. With the help and guidance of Matt Uhl, we decided that Heath Verstraete was the buyer that was the right fit for the business and its future. Heath is ambitious, smart and determined. He took the deal by the reins and I appreciate it. I look forward to working with him.”
According to the buyer, Heath Verstraete, “Bob has done a great job with the business over the last 30 years. After I checked out the facility and met him for the first time, I immediately knew that it was a fit. Bob built a proactive and customer-centric culture that I appreciate. My extensive background in engineering and leadership combined with the reputation and quality that Bob built made this acquisition a perfect fit for me. We closed the deal in about 4 months, which I am grateful for. Hats off to Matt Uhl. He was always receptive to my phone calls and willing to answer my questions night and day.”
Max Friar, Managing Partner of Calder Capital, noted, “Although we strive to close every transaction quickly, there are often many obstacles to overcome. 4 months is fast and I give credit to the good fit, fair nature and motivation of both buyer and seller. Kudos to Bob, Heath and Matt Uhl for pushing this deal both aggressively and strategically. The deal market continues to be hot here in West Michigan. Conveyability was transaction #17 on the year for the Calder/SBDA team, only one shy of last year’s record 18!”
Calder Capital represented Conveyability as its exclusive Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory firm. Matt Uhl served as the advisor for Conveyability.
