Grand Rapids Insurance Agency Adds A Third Branch with the Acquisition of Long-Established Northern Michigan Firm.
Grand Rapids, MI — Calder Capital, LLC is pleased to announce the acquisition of The SAIF Agency Group, Inc. by longstanding Grand Rapids commercial and personal lines insurance company Collins & Associates.
“We have been growing organically at a very nice clip,” stated Parke Collins, III, the President of Collins & Associates, “however it was in our strategic best interest to acquire a firm in Northern Michigan and SAIF Agency had all of the right characteristics. We look forward to providing their customers a great level of care and a wider range of services and choices.”
Collins acquired SAIF Agency Group from owner Cliff Shanoski. Mr. Shanoski stated, “I’ve had many wonderful years operating and growing my agency, but the time came for me to turn it over to a well-reputed buyer to grow and service my customers. I’m happy to say that Collins & Associates is exactly that buyer. I was very pleased to be contacted by them, and even more pleased that such a fair price and terms were reached so quickly!”
The transaction closed in 2016. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Calder Capital, LLC served as the Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor to Collins & Associates.
