Jakob joined Calder Capital as an intern in January of 2021 while pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance with a focus on investments from Grand Valley State University. While attending Grand Valley, Jakob was heavily involved in extracurriculars acting as the CFO of the investment club, a portfolio manager for the student investment fund, and was involved in both the economic and supply chain management clubs. Jakob also competed in various case competitions.
As an intern, Jakob worked with the other analysts and associates on financial analysis, valuations, confidential marketing materials, and due diligence. After graduating in May of 2021, Jakob transitioned to a full-time position leading and managing the analyst team. In 2023, Jakob stepped into an M&A Advisor role serving the state of Tennessee.
Jakob is a Grand Rapids native, a University of Michigan sports enthusiast, and a lover of the outdoors. When Jakob is not in the office working diligently for our clients, he enjoys going on hikes, trying new food, finding new hobbies, and playing sports such as golf and soccer.
