Riley is a Grand Valley State University graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Supply Chain Management. Previously, he was the Vice President of Operations at Seidman Investment Portfolio Organization, GVSU’s student-led investment group. Most recently, he was a Financial Planning and Analysis intern at Howmet Aerospace where he developed his skills in financial management and strategic planning.

Riley’s decision to join Calder was influenced by a shared commitment to Calder's values and his appreciation for Grand Rapids, which developed during his time at GVSU. Riley is enthusiastic about deepening his understanding of the M&A industry, noting, "I am looking forward to working with the team and enhancing my knowledge about the M&A space, building on what I learned in college and my internships." Driven by his family, friends, and a personal competitive spirit, we are confident that Riley will fit right in at Calder.

Outside of the office, Riley enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including snowboarding, hiking, and swimming in Lake Michigan. He is also an avid gym-goer, dedicating time to fitness during his weekdays. A fun fact he shared is similar to that of Notre Dame QB, Sam Hartman. Riley had his first rib removed to prevent a blood clot, a condition that led to an unusual keepsake - his first rib in a display case.

“We are very pleased that Riley decided to join the Calder team. Riley’s resume and our in-person interactions with him showed us that he is a determined, steady, and disciplined person who is committed to acting with honor in all that he does - excellent alignment with Calder’s values,” commented Max Friar, Calder’s Managing Partner.

At Calder Capital, Riley will join the Central Services team, who provide the financial and operational backbone (and rib bone) of Calder’s sell-side practice. Calder’s Central Services works behind the scenes on business valuations, creating marketing materials, and getting each sell-side client to market with as many qualified buyers’ eyes on them as possible.

We’re excited to welcome Riley to our growing team! If you’re interested in learning more about him or his professional background, we encourage you to connect with him on LinkedIn.
