Introducing Ben Sundquist: Calder Capital’s New Buy-Side Search Director

Calder Capital, a nationwide mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, is thrilled to welcome Ben Sundquist as our new Buy-Side Search Director.

Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ben brings a diverse background with experience in various roles across multiple industries. He previously worked in the Corporate Finance Division at Whirlpool Corporation, where he identified energy-efficient real estate tax deductions and streamlined tax processes. His early career also included project management at Imagine Center for Psychological Health. Ben holds a Bachelors in Finance from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University, where he was an active participant in the Residential Business Community (RBC) and studied Global Finance at the University of Namur in Belgium.

When asked what led him to join Calder Capital, Ben cited Calder’s reputation for small to mid-market acquisitions and its strong values of steadiness, discipline, and honesty. “I was drawn to Calder because of its impressive track record in small to mid-market acquisitions. The company’s reputation as a reliable, fair, and trustworthy advisory firm, combined with its status as an award-winning, growing business, makes it an ideal environment for me to contribute and thrive.”

Ben is eager to get started, adding, “I'm excited to fully understand our clients' goals and leverage every resource at my disposal to find the right acquisitions that pave the way for their growth and success.”

Motivated by helping people better understand and achieve their goals, Ben is driven by both personal and professional growth. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking and exploring new cuisines, along with playing golf, basketball, and soccer. He’s also an avid traveler and sports fan.

In his new role as Buy-Side Search Director, Ben will guide buyers through the initial stage of their acquisition journey, conducting market research to help prospective clients hone their acquisition criteria, ensure that they understand the search process, and guide them with best practices to execute effectively. Ben will also educate buyers on how Calder’s Buy-Side team supports them throughout the entire process, from identifying and qualifying prospects to valuing, negotiating, and drafting offers on acquisition targets.
