Headquartered in the Midwest, Project Outbound is a provider of premium freight carrier and brokerage services that transports high-value freight across the United States. The Company operates an extensive fleet of in-house tractors (36) and trailers (54) to meet the demanding applications of valuable cargo, primarily in the food, pharmaceutical, furniture, and building material industries. Outbound has added nine (9) drivers (totaling 32 drivers) over the last two quarters to position the Company for future growth in 2023.
Several growth opportunities exist for Outbound. With greater financial resources, the Company could expand its equipment base and meet unmet customer demand. It could also extend its service offering to include other trailer types, merge its brokerage and carrier division to realize additional cost savings, and utilize its dedicated in-house maintenance facility to offer maintenance services to other smaller freight carriers and open up additional revenue channels.
Two active owners help operate the Business. Owner 1 is 57 years old and is willing to partner with new ownership to grow the Company for the foreseeable future. Owner 1 is open to different forms of structure (10%-50% rollover equity) depending on buyer fit. Owner 2 wishes to exit the Business entirely. Owner 2 is 63 years old and of retirement age but is willing to provide an appropriate transition period.
The owners wish to sell the Business to a professional buyer as an early-stage financial platform or as a strategic bolt-on to a larger logistics platform. The owners will consider both routes for the correct purchase price, structure, and fit. The owners’ top priority is the continued well-being of the Company’s employees and drivers.
