Calder Capital is thrilled to announce the successful acquisition of Envision Engineering, LLC (“Envision”) of Lowell, Michigan, by Hoffmann Family of Companies (“HF Companies”) of Winnetka, Illinois.
Envision Engineering is a full-service, proprietary component metal forming and manufacturing company that specializes in deep-draw forming, stamping, laser cutting, and welding. The Company’s 34 employees serve customers in the motorcycle, automotive, aerospace, marine, and other industrial industries. Envision was founded in 1999 by Scott Roerig and joined in 2002 by Mike VanderWilp. Scott, his wife Mary Beth, and Mike engaged Calder’s Sell-Side team to find a successor to continue the Company’s legacy. Scott, Mary Beth, and Mike are excited to partner with Hoffmann for the foreseeable future to ensure the Company’s transition is successful.
“Since 1999, we have built Envision to deliver high-quality service and components to our key markets,” commented Scott Roerig, Founder of Envision Engineering. “Through this acquisition, we are committed to another 25 years of providing custom end-to-end engineered products for our customers under our next-generation leadership team.”
Hoffmann Family of Companies is a multi-vertical, family-owned private equity firm consisting of over 100 global brands, known for acquiring profitable, sustainable companies. They offer a wide array of services and investments, supporting diverse markets with a commitment to sustainable growth and development. The recent acquisition of Envision Engineering will enhance HF Companies’ portfolio and expand its manufacturing capabilities, particularly in the motorcycle and automotive sectors.
“We are excited to welcome Envision Engineering to the Hoffmann Family of Companies,” said Geoff Hoffmann, Co-CEO of HF Companies. “Their reputation for designing and creating beautiful and innovative parts for some of the highest quality and most iconic brands in the motorcycle industry position them well for future growth within the HF Companies portfolio.”
Garrett Monroe of Calder Capital served as the lead Mergers and Acquisitions Advisor to Envision Engineering. Calder Capital attracted the attention of 182 qualified buyers and secured 17 offers for the business.
“It was wonderful working with Garrett and the Calder team. I had no idea how much went into the sale of a company,” Scott remarked. “Garrett was extremely knowledgeable and patient while working through each step. During this adventure, Mary Beth and I have grown very fond of Garrett and think the world of him. I can sincerely say that I do not believe that we could have picked a better person and company to guide us through this once-in-a-lifetime company sale!”
“Truly I tell you, Scott and I appreciated the sound advice, and hard work Calder Capital & Garrett put into this big move for us,” Mary Beth added. “We could not have done it without them! We are blessed to have worked with them.”
“Scott, Mike, and Mary Beth were dream clients to work for. Every transaction has its challenges, ups, and downs, but Scott, Mike, and Mary Beth pushed for the deal every step of the way, along with the Calder team to consummate the deal,” Garrett noted. “Every decision was based on the Company’s people and young, ambitious management team. Envision Engineering is a hidden gem – they partner with some of the largest OEM motorcycle brands in the world. It is always rewarding to be a part of a company that is under the radar but produces a product that is seen and recognized worldwide in its respective category. Most motorcycles you see on the road have Envision Engineering parts. Hoffmann Family of Companies is an excellent steward to maintain the family culture and quality brand that Envision’s team has worked so hard to uphold. HF Companies is investing heavily in manufacturing companies to support the onshoring manufacturing trend and Envision fits perfectly within its portfolio, given its manufacturing capabilities and expertise in the motorcycle industry. Hoffmann also bought the physical Lowell, Michigan location with acreage to expand and a facility with the capacity to grow. HF Companies is investing in Michigan and the local West Michigan community, which is also cool to see. HF Companies is the right group to take Envision to the next level!”
“Congratulations to the Envision and HF Companies’ teams on this successful acquisition,” noted Calder Founder, Max Friar. “West Michigan manufacturing has been Calder’s bread and butter since Day 1 and the tradition continues with the sale of Envision. Hats off to Advisor Garrett Monroe on a well-executed and robust process!”
“The acquisition was a long and somewhat bumpy road, but I am glad that Garrett and I were able to get the two parties together and get the deal done, as I really think it’s a great move for all involved,” commented Clayton Jones, EVP of Corporate Development of HP Companies.
