We’re proud to introduce Marc Blom!
Calder Capital, a leading mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Marc Blom to its team as an M&A Advisor.
Marc earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Michigan Tech University and his MBA in Finance from Lake Superior State University. He is a proud native of Painesdale in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and currently resides in Marquette, MI. He has an accomplished professional career holding leadership roles in a variety of industries.
Before joining Calder Capital, Marc was the CFO at Longyear, a privately held asset manager, with investments in a multitude of businesses. Throughout his career, he has been involved in helping companies grow through M&A and oversaw financial operations in supply and manufacturing. He has also held key positions at Pioneer Surgical Technology, Louisiana Pacific, and Mead Paper. With 25+ years of experience in various accounting and finance roles across diverse industries, Marc has developed a deep understanding of the intricacies of business operations and how to inspire growth.
Marc originally connected with Calder’s Managing Partner, Max Friar, and Advisor, Matt Uhl, in 2019 while engaged in a Buy-Side transaction for a previous role. Looking to pursue other professional ventures, he became increasingly interested in working with a team like Calder’s. “From our very first interaction, the team and the approach Calder follows to connect sellers and buyers stood out to me,” Marc shared. “I’m excited about the prospect of meeting new people and facilitating those meaningful connections.”
Throughout his career, Marc has been motivated by the opportunity to tackle challenges and capitalize on business opportunities. Embodying the wisdom of his favorite quote, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right,” Marc’s determination and positive outlook will prove to be invaluable assets in the M&A advisory field.
Outside of the office, Marc enjoys spending quality time with his family. He is married to his wife, Becky, for 29 years, and together, they have a daughter, Ashlee, who attends the University of Michigan. On his days off, Marc can often be found engaging in outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, and boating or cheering on his favorite sports teams at various sporting events, the Green Bay Packers and Michigan Football.
“We are very pleased to have an Advisor of the caliber of Marc representing Calder and working determinedly to represent clients in Northern Michigan/UP and Wisconsin. Calder continues to invest in its team and grow its reach in pursuit of a national presence and we are excited to be working with Marc,” stated Calder Managing Partner, Max Friar.
At Calder Capital, Marc will be responsible for assisting clients in qualifying and vetting potential buyers, conducting due diligence, structuring deals, and navigating the intricate landscape of M&A transactions throughout Northern Michigan and Wisconsin.
