Introducing Jonathan Stanton to our Buy-Side Team!
Calder Capital is excited to welcome the newest addition to our Buy-Side team, Jonathan Stanton!
Calder Capital’s Buy-Side is focused on bringing buyers proprietary, off-market deal flow driven by high-quality, high-quantity direct outreach to potential sellers matching our client’s specific criteria and by leveraging our existing network. Our team can source and execute a variety of transactions, as evidenced by having completed deals across the country and in various industries.
We’re Proud to Introduce Jonathan Stanton!
Jonathan recently graduated from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business with a degree in Finance and a minor in Economics, earning High Honors. Jonathan’s interest in business was sparked during his high school years at Rochester Adams High School in Rochester Hills, MI. After taking a few business classes, he knew this was his true passion. We are confident that this enthusiasm will drive him to great success in his role at Calder Capital, and for our clients.
Jonathan hails from Rochester Hills, MI and resided in East Lansing, MI during his college years. After graduation, he worked in Carmel, IN, before moving to Grand Rapids, MI in January 2023. With family in the area, he is no stranger to the Grand Rapids metropolitan area. Jonathan has been interested in the M&A field since college, and was eager to gain experience in this field, specifically in the realm of operating companies. He had been following Calder’s growth and was impressed by the company’s mission and culture, which is why he set a personal goal to join our team. He is excited to learn and grow in his role with Calder, and we are thrilled to have him!
He brings valuable real-world experience to the Calder Capital team. Prior to joining, he worked at TwoPointO Investor Relations for a year and a half, where he managed a private commercial real estate portfolio, underwrote private commercial real estate developments and acquisitions. When asked about his new role at Calder, Jonathan said, “I am most looking forward to working for a company whose mission and culture I believe in. I am excited to be working with like-minded individuals and to be working in a role that I am passionate about, allowing me to accept a new challenge, be creative, and be productive. I look forward to contributing to the success of the team and Calder’s growth.”
He believes in the power of positivity and surrounding oneself with like-minded individuals. One of his favorite quotes is “Good things happen in your life when you surround yourself with positive people.” He is determined to keep a positive outlook on life and focus on the good aspects. There is great discipline in focusing on the good. He celebrates his successes and learns from his challenges. He believes that approaching everything with a positive mindset not only uplifts himself but also motivates and provides confidence to others.
Jonathan finds inspiration from many sources, but credits his positive attitude and strong work ethic to his older brother, Jamie. Despite facing many challenges as a child, including the amputation of his leg at 6 months old, Jamie has always maintained a strong sense of self-belief, determination, and positivity. He is an accomplished skier, having competed on Team USA and winning a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. After retiring from skiing, he has led a successful career on Wall Street in New York City. Jonathan looks up to his brother and is dedicated to modeling the same values of perseverance and determination in the face of obstacles. He is fully committed to achieving his goals, and will go to great lengths to do so.
When not working, Jonathan can be found indulging in his love for outdoor activities such as skiing, golfing, and exploring the natural beauty of Michigan. He also likes to disconnect and spend quality time with friends, by taking hikes on local trails, spending time on the Great Lakes, and exploring the lesser-known gems of the Upper Peninsula. He is an avid sports fan and follows MSU football, MSU basketball, and Detroit sports teams closely. Now that he has returned to Michigan, he is excited to attend games in person again.
“We wholeheartedly welcome Jonathan to the Calder Team,” noted Calder Managing Partner, Max Friar. “Over the past few years, we have continued to invest in the people and systems on the buy-side. The results speak for themselves; multiple closings in 2022, 11 LOIs with present buy-side clients, and an aggressive mandate to grow our buy-side clientele to 40 in 2023. Jonathan’s professionalism and strong work ethic align with our culture and goals, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on board.”
The Buy-Side team at Calder Capital is essential in driving the company’s success as we continue to grow. By completing all work in-house, the team can maintain a high level of professionalism and quality, creating a strong first impression for our clients and ensuring leads and deal flow. The team is also highly adaptable and able to meet the specific needs of each client, providing support until the closing of the deal or connecting them with the right resources.
We are thrilled to have Jonathan join the Calder Capital team and are confident that his positive attitude and diverse skill set will make a significant impact.
